It's Wednesday 17th March, I’m sitting at my desk after I’ve just finished setting out this extremely long and boring job when I thought I would try to relax my mind for a few minutes by reading a copy of 1984-Online Issue 10, "I know! it's not the latest release but it was all I had at work" anyway as I was saying, I was reading through issue 10 of 1984-Online when I came across an article called G3'ed which was talking about the new clear and blue 400MHz G3 PowerMac. Anyway, I Was happily reading this article (whilst trying not to let my boss know I had stopped working) when I got to these last few lines in the last paragraph.
( I do have one question though, as Quark’s installer comes on a floppy disk how are we going to install it onto the new iMac's, oh! did I forget to mention that they don’t come with a floppy drive?)
Well, I felt that I must say something and answer this question as I have looked into this problem quite a bit as I have just purchased an iMac, talking of which has anyone seen that free iMac that comes with the April addition of MacWorld? Well actually it's only a card one that you cut out and stick together but it's quite good! You can also download it and print it off the internet at Apple’s home page (I think!)
Anyway, I'm kind of deviating from the point a little, so where was I? "Oh, yes," I was saying that I use QuarkXpress a lot at work and at home, because of this I have been looking through books and surfing around Quark's technical support on the internet (Which by the way isn't the easiest thing to find your way around), to which I have found the answer. All you have to do is to write to Quark's Help and Technical support section explaining the problem and after giving them the Registration No. of the product they will send you a new installation CD that doesn't require a installation floppy disk. This information has been quite useful to me and I hope that it will help anyone else who has been pondering over the same question.
